Here at St Wilfrid’s we are always looking for ways to inspire our children and our lunch time service is no different.
Since the introduction of the ‘New school food plan’ and free school meals for Key Stage 1, we’ve seen the number of younger children taking school meals increase significantly, but numbers of KS 2 children dropped off.
We’ve asked the children what they would like to see, and monitored food quality over a number of months, and we are now excited to announce a new lunch time service with exciting new menus.
The emphasis will be on high quality, freshly-prepared, nutritious food, which our children will enjoy and recognise, as well as inspiring them to try some new things!
There will be themed menus each week, such as ‘Best of British’, ‘World flavours’, or ‘Taste of Italy to name just a handful, and the children have already chosen the ones they’d like to try first.
The new menus will start in September, and full details of what is on offer can be found on our menu’s page.
We’re sure that the children will love the new menus, and we hope that many more of our children and staff will choose school lunches in future.
We’ll be inviting children and parents/carers along during the Autumn term to come in and try the new menus and will let you know when our taster events are planned.
If you have any questions about the new lunch service and menus please contact the School Office.
